Meet The Doctors

Dr. Joyce Freedman

Dr. Joyce Freedman has been in practice for over 20 years serving the Northern Virginia area. She specializes in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including implants, veneers, and crowns. Dr. Freedman is genuinely concerned about her patient’s dental health and has dedicated her career to providing her patients with the latest advances in dentistry.

After completing her undergraduate curriculum at Mt. Holyoke College, Dr. Freedman attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She furthered her career by completing a two-year general practice residency in hospital dentistry at the University of North Carolina and at Oxford University in England, where she worked with hemophilia and coagulopathy patients. After completing her formal training, Dr. Freedman accepted a position with the VA Hospitals and ran their general practice residency program while teaching endodontics at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Outside of the office, Dr. Freedman resides in Northern Virginia, has two children, and enjoys photography, travel, skiing, scuba diving, and gardening.

Dr. Maggie Saludis

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Maggie Saludis graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Neuroscience. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland. Following graduation, Dr. Saludis completed her postdoctoral residency at the Mountain Area Health and Education Center in Asheville, NC. Here she advanced her skills in general dentistry while providing care to underserved populations of rural North Carolina. During this time, Dr. Saludis was named one of the Top 20 dentists in Asheville, NC. After completion of the program, she relocated to Alexandria, VA, and has been working in private practice in the DMV area.

Dr. Saludis is experienced in performing many facets of general dentistry including Invisalign therapy, crown and bridge fabrication, implant placement and restoration, root canal therapy, and laser dentistry. She keeps up with the latest dental technology and continuing education in order to provide the best care possible to her patients. She strives to provide the highest quality of care in a friendly and comfortable environment while educating and empowering every patient she treats.

Outside of the office, Dr. Saludis enjoys outdoor activities including swimming, hiking, and running. She is an avid animal lover and will forever remain a huge fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams.

Dr. Daniel Lee

Dr. Daniel Lee grew up in the Herndon/Fairfax area and attended his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude with a double major in biology and health and society. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine with Clinical Honors and Community Health Honors, which are competitive programs to enhance and diversify academically and clinically. He also graduated with Matthew Cryer Honor Society, one of the highest scholastic honors conferred and limited to the highest-ranked dental students. Dr. Lee then received a Health Professions Scholarship Program from the U.S. Navy and served the country as a military dentist for several years. He provided care to active duty members and their families, practicing at different locations such as Norfolk and Quantico in Virginia, and even abroad in Japan. 

Dr. Lee is trained in digital dentistry, CAD/CAM, and implant restoration. Dr. Lee is always striving to provide patients with the best care by keeping up with the latest and most advanced technology and is currently in the process of attaining his Invisalign certification, as well as an implant placement training course. Dr. Lee’s goal is to be a passionate and caring dentist that values quality and integrity, and provides high quality and individualized care so that patients may have the best experiences and smiles! 

Outside of the office, Dr. Lee enjoys traveling and hiking with his fiance and puppy and likes to play tennis and squash.

Dr. Leo Perez

Dr. Leo Perez is a native of Texas and received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas of San Antonio (UTSA). Following this, he pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Dr. Perez has had Navy sponsorship throughout his training via the Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP). He was honorably selected into a Full-Time Out Service (FTOS) OMS residency program during dental school. Dr. Perez continued his training at UTHSCSA and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD). During this time, he completed his general surgery and anesthesia internship and subsequently completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training in 2014. 

Special interests of Dr. Perez include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant, and bone grafting surgeries, cleft palate surgery, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, facial cosmetics, and TMJ surgery and reconstruction.

Outside of the office, Dr. Perez is currently on inactive duty at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he functions as staff in an OMS resident and teaching facility that engages in the full scope of the specialty. Dr. Perez spends all of his free time with his wife and three kids.

Dr. Jesus M. Gonzalez

Dr. Jesus M. Gonzalez was raised in El Paso, Texas, and enlisted in the US Navy as a dental technician after graduating from high school. He attended community college during his enlisted time and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Texas in 2004. Dr. Gonzalez attended dental school through the Navy Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) scholarship and graduated cum laude with research honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in May 2008 earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Dr. Gonzalez returned to the fleet assigned to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. He completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency in 2009 and was selected into a full-time out service Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) residency through the Navy Duty Under Instruction (DUINS) program. He continued his training at UTHSCSA and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2013. During this time, he completed his general surgery and anesthesia internship and subsequently completed his oral & maxillofacial surgery training in 2016. After graduating from residency, he was given an overseas assignment to Okinawa, Japan where he served as a battalion surgeon. While in Okinawa, he attained diplomate status from the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS) in 2018. He served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower (CVN 69) for one year before transferring to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Gonzalez is currently on active duty at Walter Reed where he functions as a staff surgeon in the OMS residency program where he teaches surgery residents and practices the full scope of the specialty. His special interests include trauma surgery, TMJ surgery/reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and dentoalveolar surgery. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys his free time with his wife and three kids.
