At GoSmiles Dentistry, we utilize the latest dental technology to further enhance our ability to better serve patients. Our integration of these innovations into our practice makes various aspects of dental care more quick, comfortable, and pleasing to those we serve. In combination with these factors, dental visits are regarded as positive experiences, which patients can enjoy every time they make an appointment!

iTero® Scanner
The iTero scanning system is a compact device that helps capture crisp, clear images of the mouth digitally and at a high level of detail. This wand-like tool is inserted into the mouth where it is guided by the dentist to create a digital impression and accurate imaging of the patient’s teeth and gums.
As the scanner is moved throughout the mouth, images are displayed digitally to get a close-up look of the teeth and gums while capturing a precise model of the patient’s mouth. This can be used in identifying unhealthy gum tissue or cavities in hard-to-reach areas of the mouth, as well as crafting accurate impressions for building various restorations or oral appliances – including Invisalign aligners!
Digital X-rays
Digital x-rays are an essential part of every oral health examination. They are capable of portraying the health of the teeth, the integrity of the enamel, the density of the jawbone, and revealing underlying problems that may not be readily apparent. Without x-rays, many oral health concerns could likely go undetected, such as the following:
- Bone loss
- Tooth infections
- Tumors
- Cavities between the teeth
- Development of wisdom teeth
In contrast to traditional x-rays, digitized radiographs produce rapid, high-quality images that can be digitally accessed, shared, and stored to monitor a patient’s oral health. Additionally, they are much safer – producing up to 90% less radiation than traditional methods. Overall, digital x-rays are a significant factor in providing our patients with a more convenient, comfortable, and efficient time in our office.
